International Caesarean Awareness Network
ICAN works to improve mother and baby health by lowering the caesarean rate through education, providing support for caesarean recovery, and promoting VBAC (vaginal birth after caesarean).
ICAN provides information based on recent research to pregnant women, mothers, healthcare professionals, the media, and any others seeking information on caesarean-related topics. We do this in many different ways: through meetings of our local chapters; extensive information on our website; our subscribers magazine; attendance at birth-related events; presentations; press releases and media interviews; advocacy, and lobbying for improved maternity services.
ICAN provides support for mothers healing from caesareans and planning VBAC through local chapter meetings, telephone, email, and presentations for care providers for women in the childbearing years.
